As part of LiveryLists mission to improve the standards and value of the livery industry, we think that biosecurity is hugely important. Not just to help
protect your yard and the horses on it against a breakout of infectious disease, but also just to maintain good standards of cleanliness and hygiene on the yard.
For many years we have supported the Redwings “Stamp Out Strangles” campaign and Strangles Awareness Week which helps support horse owners and equestrian business owners to understand the risks of infectious disease. We are thrilled to now be working alongside AG+ to help promote their guidance, products and services and further boost the understanding of these precautions.
Experience from Within the Industry
Coming from a practical and business equestrian background, with children involved in the pony club and competing for many years, AG+ founder Gail Egginton understands that it is important to protect the horses and ponies in our care. Established in 2021 and inspired by society’s ongoing difficulties with infectious diseases, Gail and her team use scientifically tested, veterinary-grade products to disinfect buildings and equipment.
They offer monthly yard visits that are perfect for the racing industry or other busy equestrian establishments such as competition and training venues, and less regular yard visits and deep cleans for other establishments such as livery yards, riding schools and such like.
Giving Horse and Yard Owners Peace of Mind
The products that they use- Endosan- is an effective disinfectant against the pathogens that plague the equine and agricultural sectors such as those leading to strangles, fungal infections and influenza. EndoSan disinfectant is a bactericide, virucide, sporicide, fungicide, algaecide and amoebicide disinfectant, it is odourless, colourless and tasteless and safe to spray around feed, hay and water containers. Disinfecting the stables is not the only part that AG+ can play, as there are other applications on yards too to help protect your horses such as the treatment of rainwater harvesting systems and horseboxes.
AG+ can also help yards who have had outbreaks of infectious disease such as strangles to disinfect and eradicate it from surfaces and equipment.
