The start of May 2025 saw the first-ever National Equine Week of Action – a fantastic week of collaboration and awareness-raising across the UK.

This initiative, led by the National Equine Priority Delivery Group (PDG) and supported by the National Rural Crime Unit (NRCU), brought together police forces and equine partners to tackle equine-related crime and safety.
Throughout the week, joint efforts focused on:
- Raising awareness of equine crime
- Sharing crime prevention advice
- Offering property marking opportunities
- Promoting safe road passing around horses
- Highlighting initiatives like Operation Snap, Horse Watch groups, and Mounted Police Volunteers
The week also spotlighted the national Operation Gallop campaign — a key resource for horse owners packed with guidance and information.
